I Received A Super Sweet Blogging Award

A while ago, I was nominated for the Super-Sweet Blogging Award by Sumithra Sriram.

The rules are:

  •   Show-off the award on your blog.
  •   Thank the super-sweet blogger who nominated you.
  •   Answer five super-sweet questions about yourself.
  •   Nominate your favorite super-sweet bloggers.

Showing off my award:

Super Sweet Blogging Award

The super-sweet questions and my answers:

1. Cookies or cakes?

Cookies. There is probably no cookie that I don’t like.

2. Chocolate or vanilla?

Vanilla, whether it’s cake, ice cream, milk shakes, or the chips in my cookies.

3. Favorite sweet treat?

It’s a tie between homemade vanilla fudge and vanilla chip cookies.

4. When do you crave for sweets the most?

During work—probably because I deal with a lot of people, and people tend to complain a lot now more than ever before. Sweets keep my mind sharp and my nerves calm.

5. If you had a sweet nickname, what would it be?

I don’t know. I have been called Honey and Sweetie a lot. Either one will do, I guess.

I now nominate the following 9 super-sweet bloggers in no particular order, other than I find various amounts of sweetness at their blogs.

My Blog Received A Lovely Blog Award

"One Lovely Blog Award"

Last month I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Lightningpen. I’m still surprised, delighted and honored.

Here are the rules and my responses for the award:

  • Thank the person who nominated me.

Again, I thank Lightningpen.

  • Share 7 things about me that you may not know.
  1. 15 years ago I co-founded an artists group where I live; it’s still going well.
  2. I once met and spoke with the late actor George Peppard at Cannes. He was smaller than how he appears on TV and the movie screen. Actress Lynda Carter was there and was taller, but that may have been caused by her high-heel shoes.
  3. When I lived in Italy, I discovered that there are Great White Sharks in the Mediterranean Sea. Luckily, that discovery was made on land. 😀
  4. I once owned the first comic book Spider-Man appeared in. My mom threw it away when she redecorated my bedroom.
  5. I played softball in a men’s league for 27 years. The fastest pitcher I ever faced was a woman. She struck out every batter on my team and pitched a no-hitter game. That was the only year women teams were allowed to play in the league.
  6. I met baseball legend Ted Williams when I was 13. Our town’s boat manufacturer made boats that he endorsed. Whenever he came to inspect the boats, he always made time to visit with the neighborhood kids. And no, I never got his autograph, but that was okay. He gave me batting tips that helped me become a better hitter.
  7. I was born on the day and year Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the best-selling “Little House” series of children’s novels, died. She was 90. For those who believe in reincarnation, I do autographs. 😀

My Blog Received A Reader Appreciation Award

"Reader Appreciation Award"I discovered recently that I won the Reader Appreciation Award after being nominated by LightningPen. This is my first award for blogging, and I’m intrigued that it’s a reader appreciation one. And I’m glad to see that LightningPen was a recipient. He always dashes humor in his blogs, which I’m a sucker for—I love to laugh.

The rules of the Reader Appreciation Award

1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog, which I have done
2. Answer 10 questions (listed below) for fun if you want to
3. Nominate 6 or 10 to 12 (Isn’t that a song by Chicago?) blogs you enjoy
4. Provide the links to these blogs and let them know they’ve been nominated
5. Provide a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you, which I have done

10 Questions—and my answers—for the Reader Appreciation Award

1. What is your favorite color?

I have two favorite colors: yellow and blue in all their shades except khaki and Navy, which are depressing when displayed together.

2. What is your favorite animal?

Probably the red fox, which displays the characteristics of both canine and feline.

3. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?

Fruit juices.

4. Facebook or Twitter?

I don’t tweet, so Facebook.

5. Favorite pattern?

I’m not sure what this means, but I’ll say fractal patterns found in nature.

6. Do you prefer getting or giving presents?

I give more than I receive … and enjoy it.

7. Favorite number?

8. Favorite day of the week?

9. Favorite flower?

Frangipani flowers.

10. What is your passion?

Creating art.

My 7 nominations for the Reader Appreciation Award

1. Unbound Boxes Limping Gods for Cheryl Moore’s great stories and art
2. Sorrygnat, World Citizen for Esther Bradley-DeTally’s whimsical writing
3. MonaD’E for lifting the mind, body, and spirit
4. Chester Maynes for wonderful poetry
5. UnderTheWisdomTree for faith, philosophy, health, meditation, and well-being
6. Harry for things funny and interesting
7. My Tangerine Days for terrific poetry

Also, though it isn’t required, I’d like to thank my followers and everyone who has commented. I know how easy it is when you’re busy to click on the Like button after viewing someone’s posts. I’m guilty of the same when I’m blog surfing, but I try to comment when time allows. Comments can be truly inspiring.

Finally, for those of you who are wondering why I haven’t posted lately, let me tell you that I’m still fussing over The Ridgewood Story, and I’ve discovered some comic strips I drew back when dinosaurs were thriving. I hope to post new chapters and the comics soon.

Have a great day!
